Senior Development Manager, Firmware & DevOps · Broadcom

PCIe Gen6 switches · high-speed Ethernet controllers

Engineering leader with 15+ years of management at Broadcom, currently running firmware development and DevOps for PCIe Gen6 switches and high-speed Ethernet controllers. Have built and led multi-disciplinary organizations of up to 72 engineers — firmware, DevOps/SRE, and software test — through chip bring-ups and multi-billion-dollar product rollouts. Started at the bench and never lost the habit of building: process, infrastructure, and lately the AI-era practices — context management and harness engineering — that are reshaping how engineering teams work.

Senior Development Manager

2008 — present
Broadcom
Staff Engineer → Manager (2010) → Senior Manager
  • Lead firmware development for PCIe Gen6 switch and high-speed Ethernet controller product lines — from chip bring-up through production release, on multi-billion-dollar rollouts.
  • Built and run the DevOps/SRE organization behind those product lines: architected the transition from legacy build infrastructure to modern CI/CD — a large-scale Jenkins conversion, unified source control on Git/Gerrit/Jira, and internal build-and-release automation deployed across globally distributed teams.
  • Directed branching strategy and release logistics for major parallel silicon programs — from pre-silicon FPGA environments through production firmware releases — holding schedule fidelity and quality gates across concurrent development lines.
  • Created and led a cross-organization Test Automation taskforce that unified testing methodology across sites and drove the conversion of legacy suites to modern automated frameworks.
  • Led multi-disciplinary engineering organizations of up to 72 people spanning firmware, DevOps/SRE, and software test — and the quality and reliability engineering behind major rollouts.
  • Established 24/7 global support for developer tools by building and integrating an offshore support team; drove global cross-project forums that aligned distributed teams on shared SCM tooling and process.
  • Hired and grew countless engineers; built teams from the ground up and developed the processes they run on.
  • Driving AI-era engineering practice: process development for context management, harness engineering, and evolving DevOps roles in the AI landscape.
